Job Description:

Beginning Pay Range: $32.14 – $40.18 per hour

OCCU is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing and high performing team! The Project Manager’s responsibility is to facilitate cross functional teams to complete the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing phases of projects for the organization. The Project Manager uses project management best practices to ensure end-user, time, quality and cost requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. These duties are a representative example of position expectations. Actual duties assigned may vary and change depending on the business needs of the department and OCCU. 

  • Provide clear, frequent and appropriate communication to stakeholders.
  • Manage, report and implement project changes using organizational processes.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to current project management processes and practices; identify opportunities for business process improvements within project scope.
  • Facilitate the development of a detailed scope, including objectives, requirements and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute a project management plan that addresses the level of complexity associated with the project.
  • Through the project team, identify project risks, including probability and impact, and develop mitigation and contingency plans to minimize risk impact throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to accelerate results and build capacity by assigning tasks and decision-making responsibilities to individuals or teams with clear boundaries, expectations, support and follow-up.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and training support to build and maintain an inventory of skilled project management resources.
  • Act as a liaison to expedite problem resolution in a timely and appropriate manner, including escalation as necessary.
  • Develop and leverage relationships within and across work groups to achieve results.
  • Lead and manage cross functional teams throughout the project lifecycle to deliver working solutions that address the needs of the organization.
  • Promote a climate of positive employee relations by fostering two-way communication and by resolving team conflict issues in a timely manner.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Qualified candidates for this position will have relevant education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions and meet the minimum performance expectations for this position with or without an accommodation.

Preferred qualifications for the position include:

  • Five or more years of diverse business experience
  • Experience using PPM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, etc
  • PMP Certification

Education:

Equivalent to a four-year college degree in business management, finance, marketing, or other relevant field of study. CAPM and CSM Certifications.

An equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position will be considered in lieu of the outlined requirements.

Work Environment: Office-related work is primarily conducted in a temperature-controlled office environment. Our office spaces include traditional office lighting (including fluorescent lighting), as well as shared office spaces and facilities that result in consistent and frequent noise (moderate and often louder than ambient noise), conversations among employees and/or members, interruptions and other similar distractions. 

Work Hours: This job can typically be done within a Monday through Friday schedule; however, based on events going on there will be times when evening and weekend work is required with little or no notice.
