Job Description:

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with internal business referral sources by partnering with assigned branch staff including managers, Member Service Officers, and Member Service Representatives to generate referrals and new mortgage business. Respond to member inquiries and referrals that are generated from both MLO contacts and from other iQ Credit Union business channels.
  • Utilize iQ Credit Union training materials, reference tools, and other resources to provide accurate and up-to-date loan program/policy information to both external customers and internal business partners.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements. Perform all job functions in accordance with iQ Credit Union policies and procedures.

Oversee loan process from origination to close:

Direct members to utilize online mortgage center application pages.
Meet with prospective borrowers as needed
Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives and goals, advise members of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information.
Review /Analyze credit and financial data.
Present appropriate iQ Credit Union mortgage products and programs and explain guidelines.
Apprise of pricing and lock rate as required.
Collect initial loan documentation as needed and provide complete package to the Mortgage Loan Underwriter and operational team.
Upload complete application via investor underwriting engines such as Desktop Originator.
IIES/TASKS on a day to day basis

  • Work with Mortgage Loan Processors, Underwriters, Funders and Management to ensure that loan documents are properly submitted on a timely basis and loan conditions are met.
  • Provide members with regular updates on their mortgage application regarding loan status. Provide on-going communication to business partners.
  • Achieve production goals as established by iQ Credit Union. Ensure successful completion of all assigned Mortgage Loan Officer training activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding member information at all times.
  • Enter information into the computerized mortgage system as directed by Mortgage Service Officers and print appropriate documents from the system.
  • Process first and second mortgage documentation as directed.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.

This position is subject to the SAFE Act Registration Requirements You must register and remain in good standing with the Federal Registry System (NMLS) per the SAFE Act requirements. You will be required to submit to the SAFE Act background check and fingerprinting process. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your continued employment and may cause immediate termination.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:
One to three years of similar or related experience. Minimum of one year of residential mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating self-sourced business.

Education:
(1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program. Four-year college degree preferred.
