Job Description:

DUTIES:

  1. Communicate with Qualstar members regarding their delinquent and overdrawn accounts.
  2. Represent Qualstar’s Service Standards in all internal and external member interactions.
  3. Administer collection program for members with delinquent loans, over-limit Visa accounts and negative share accounts.
  4. Review and recommend delinquent accounts for repossession, foreclosure, charge-off and referral to outside agencies.
  5. Consult with member requesting extension agreements of loan payments for approval by management.
  6. Process and review bankruptcy paperwork.
  7. Process incoming garnishments.
  8. Assign accounts to collection agencies.
  9. Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and problem solve at a high level.
  10. Assist Member Solutions Manager with department training needs.
  11. Serve as a resource for all Member Solutions staff to answer questions and assist with collection efforts.
  12. Assist with creating and updating knowledge pages.
  13. Provide support in absence of supervisor.
  14. Contribute to departmental and organizational goals.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  2. Must be able to use computer keyboard and mouse.
  3. Must be able to view computer monitor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school or equivalent education required.
  2. Two to five years credit union/financial institution experience in collections required.
  3. Bankruptcy, repossession and foreclosure experience in a financial institution preferred.
  4. Significant level of trust and diplomacy required.
  5. Possess strong problem solving skills.
  6. Strong communication skills.
  7. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
  8. Ability to deal with members in difficult situations.
