Role:

Works with Rogue Credit Union’s Creative and Marketing Teams to achieve departmental and business goals in order to achieve its vision of the most loyal members in the nation. The Copywriter provides written content for a variety of Marketing communications. Works closely with the Creative Director, graphic designers and marketing leads to deliver concise, straightforward and accurate copy for a wide range of digital and print-based communications.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

55%     Develops and writes creative copy for projects including, but not limited to, In-branch materials, direct mail, email, web content, promotional materials, social media, corporate communications and other marketing materials. Communicates consistent brand voice throughout all communications, both internal and external, that ensures an exceptional member experience.

Manages multiple projects and meet deadlines. Demonstrates flexibility to manage shifting priorities. Develops expertise with the Rogue Credit Union brand and financial services offerings to ensure communications are consistent and accurate. Improves copy across all channels.

Reviews and proofs all copy to ensure accuracy, including punctuation, spelling, structure and organization.

15%     Coordinates assigned projects from start to finish. Maintains branding and marketing strategy, resulting in measurable/return on investment driven marketing promotions and campaigns.

15%     Routinely monitors outgoing credit union communications and branch merchandising to ensure alignment with Rogue’s mission, vision, filter and target audience. Ensures all copy meets the credit union’s assigned standards in order to protect the integrity and ensure the consistency of the brand.

10%     Proactively assists in developing and maintaining the creative strategy and implements as assigned across a variety of print and digital media.

5%       Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.

7. Ensures effective workflow processes that maximize productivity to meet deadlines.

8. Assures compliance in any communication from the marketing department by working with other departments and completing research proactively.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Three to five years of similar or related experience. Strong working knowledge of creative, marketing and brand development.

Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills: Excellent PC skills to include Microsoft Word and Outlook. Strong administrative, organizational and time management skills. Ability to promote/suggest.

Physical Requirements

Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. This position requires attendance of events in the evenings and on weekends. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to all credit union regions may be required. Must be able to think quickly and find solutions on the go.
