Job Description:

Are you a relationship-building, hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves, get-things-done credit union leader?

Portland Local 8 Federal Credit Union (PDX8 FCU) is small in size but big on serving the membership and has tremendous potential for growth. PDX8 FCU is searching for its next chief executive officer (CEO) to lead the credit union as it provides financial services to the local union members. The CEO is the face of the credit union, building relationships with members and the local union leadership. These relationships will allow the organization to grow and ensure relevant products and services are available for the membership.

The CEO must be personable and ready to build solid relationships with employees, members, and union leadership. The CEO is an involved leader who can balance day-to-day operations with strategy, vision, and advancing the credit union. The next CEO will develop a strategy to expand its reach to the thousands of potential members in the local unions, from casuals to pensioners, through site visits, participation in union events, and more.

The CEO must be a self-starter, have an incredible work ethic, be an excellent communicator, and have exceptional interpersonal skills. You are a superb problem-solver and can recognize the capabilities of others, delegate accordingly, and encourage continued professional growth and responsibilities. The CEO will develop a plan for training, coaching, and developing the current team while preparing for future staffing needs. You maintain a collaborative partnership with the CFO and the board of directors and bring creativity, strategy, and vision to the conversation. The CEO should be familiar with board governance and provide guidance to the board.
