Location: This person may live and work in Medford, Brookings or Treasure Valley.

Role:
Performs duties relating to the operations of the Accounting Department that result in maintaining the financial, statistical, accounting and member records of the Credit Union. May be responsible for a specific accounting function such as maintaining accounting records or accounts payable processing.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
45% Prepares and enters journal entries in the general ledger system. Prepares moderately complex
general ledger reconciliations, including researching and resolving outages.

40% Reviews supporting receipts and processes employee expense reports and employee reimbursements according to organizational guidelines. Codes and enters invoices into the Accounts Payable system. Traces and investigates transactions to resolve questionable data.

5% Prepares moderately complex daily, monthly and yearly spreadsheets and reports.

5% Assists other staff and members with questions, issues, balancing and training.

5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Performance Measurements:
1. Supports and practices Rogue’s Vision, Mission, Values and Loyalty Culture. Utilizes the Service Promises with both internal and external members. Embraces Rogue’s community involvement program in a positive and proactive manner.

2. Ensures the department meets all deadlines with respect to settlement activities, with minimal errors and no errors that result in losses to the Credit Union.

3. Performs tasks efficiently, in a timely and accurate manner, with minimal supervision.

4. Demonstrates considerable flexibility, emotional intelligence, willingness and resilience in order to accept unanticipated changes in priorities to best meet the needs of the department and the Credit Union.

5. Keeps supervisor informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.

6. Through consistent use of the Credit Union’s Service Promises, responds to inquiries and requests in an informed, professional, and courteous manner. Provides clear, concise direction efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Creates promoters through exceptional service.

7. Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of government regulations relating to this job description. Stays informed of current trends within the Credit Union movement and financial services industry, Credit Union policies, guidelines, and department procedures.

8. Maintains confidentiality with credit union information and all other information gathered or received as part of this position.

9. Demonstrates effective training of new accounting team members and serves as a resource for the existing team.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or
obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills: Basic math skills. 10-key calculator by touch. Computer proficient with Microsoft Office;
excellent Excel/spreadsheet software skills, Keyboarding skills. Must be highly productive, organized, flexible, self-managed, resourceful, and dependable with the ability to meet deadlines. Should possess a strong eye for detail and accuracy, with strategic, critical thinking skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to motivate or influence others using diplomacy.

Physical Requirements: Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer. Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and
continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Ability to drive a motor vehicle or arrange for own transportation.

Work Environment: Work Environment Normal workday with occasional overtime. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.
