A joint statement issued by the NCUA and other federal agencies discusses the effective dates of certain provisions of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012, as well as the act’s effect on the agencies’ proposed Interagency Questions and Answers.
The NCUA estimates that the 2013 NCUSIF premium will be between 0-5 basis points, and the stabilization fund assessment will remain between 8-11 basis points, showing “the improving strength of the credit union system.”
Since the Affordable Care Act took effect in 2010, many small employers have been eligible for a health care tax credit created as part of the bill. One of the few Northwest credit unions to take advantage of the program received a check from the IRS for almost $7,000 for the 2011 tax year.
