Three Northwest credit union stories are being told on the national blog CU Planet, which launched in video format on International Credit Union Day. According to its mission statement, CU Planet is a multimedia site “about people who imagine a better world and believe in the power of working together to improve lives.”

The National Credit Union Foundation has activated its online disaster relief system to raise money for Colorado credit unions and their members affected by recent flooding, and the Northwest Credit Union Foundation has joined the effort with a $2,500 donation.
With Northwest Credit Union Foundation support, Junior Achievement will be able to bring its mobile “Finance Park” to communities of Southwest Washington and Oregon this coming school year. The realistic budgeting exercise is a great experience for students as well for credit union volunteers.
Credit union professionals dedicate their careers and much of their personal time to fulfill the “People Helping People” philosophy. While some are modest about winning awards for their life’s work, such recognition helps to celebrate and tell the credit union story. Awards season is now open at the NWCUF.
