Role: Supports and lives the credit union’s Vision, Mission, and Values. Provides managerial support and guides the overall administration of policies, procedures, and compliance for the Lending Services (Consumer Underwriting, Indirect Lending, Manufactured Home in a Park) and Member Solutions/Asset Protection Departments. Constantly explores and develops opportunities and initiates and directs projects that will enhance the credit union’s ability to achieve their stated goals, including; increased automation/efficiencies, improved quality assurance, net worth growth, member loyalty, internal staff loyalty and satisfactory asset quality. Through effective leadership, owns, evolves, and continuously improves the credit union’s Consumer lending channels to support a member experience that drives member loyalty.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

35% Inspires and guides areas of responsibility covering the Lending Services and Member Solutions Departments of Rogue Credit Union to accomplish the credit union’s goals and scorecard metrics as outlined in the business plan.

25% Champions a loyalty culture that serves internal and external member needs professionally and efficiently in a manner that wins hearts and inspires loyalty and creates a “one team” culture between delivery and support to enhance overall member experiences. Provides direction, guidance and mentorship to division Managers and Assistant Managers to further develop their skill set, performance and personal development.

15% Constantly explores and develops opportunities and initiates and directs projects that will enhance the credit union’s ability to achieve their stated goals, including; increased automation/ efficiencies, improved quality assurance, net worth growth, member loyalty, internal staff loyalty and satisfactory asset quality.

10% Develops and maintains ongoing management reporting processes to review and monitor ongoing department performance against stated metrics. Works closely with Senior Vice President of Consumer Lending and Mortgage to ensure high-level communication. Improves data intelligence and analysis for loan portfolio risk management. Provides ongoing monitoring of the consumer loan portfolio to ensure asset quality is maintained within established targets.

5% Hires, trains, coaches and manages a highly qualified staff sufficient to meet the needs of the areas assigned. Establishes and maintains objective accountability measurements and evaluates performance on all direct reports. Creates and maintains a coaching culture to consistently strive toward the highest level of achievement and performance for every employee.

5% Ensures high staff Net Promoter Score through providing all staff with exceptional working conditions, training and development opportunities, and ongoing appropriate reward and recognition for their efforts.

5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.

 

Performance Measurements:

1. Supports and practices Rogue’s mission, vision, and loyalty culture. Utilizes the service factors with both internal and external members. Embraces Rogue’s community involvement program in a positive and proactive manner.

2. Ensures that all approved loans comply with established policies and regulations by auditing and reporting to appropriate managers’ common errors or issues.

3. Demonstrates empathy, self-reflection, and adjustment of own behaviors, displaying effective emotional intelligence.

4. Adheres to and maintains all credit union promotional, regulatory and policy compliance requirements including compliance with any Federal and State laws.

5. Meets or exceeds assigned goals in order to achieve individual, department and credit union goals. Stays informed of current trends within the credit union movement and financial services industry.

6. Provides leadership in credit union, community and state by being active in one or more charitable organizations. Regularly pursues personal development in order to ensure that skills and capabilities grow with the requirements of the position and the credit union.

7. Keeps senior management informed regarding key operational issues affecting the department and offering recommendations for issues.

8. Leverages data to develop success metrics, identify credit challenges, portfolio management and other areas as the credit union deems fit.

9. Is knowledgeable on relevant lending systems, policies, rules, regulations, procedures, practices, products and services.

10. Prepares, monitors and operates within the department’s budget.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

 

Education: (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

 

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

 

Other Skills: Consumer loan documentation knowledge with the ability to direct and resolve loan documentation issues. Able to apply big picture thinking in detailed oriented environment and ability to apply this to underwriting decisions and portfolio risk management. Solid proven written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated interaction with senior management and subordinates. Proven Management/Assistant Management level staff mentoring and development. Goal oriented, driven for results. Proactive versus reactive leadership style with proven member focused leadership experience. Innovative thinking with processes, policies, and staffing.

 

Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

 

Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to all credit union regions may be required. May require working Saturdays or Sunday.
