Vice President Commercial Loan Officer

Location:  Bend, Oregon (Old Mill Branch)

Employment type/status:  Regular, Full-Time (40 hours/week)

FSLA status: Exempt

Required schedule/availability:  M-F (8:00am-5:30pm)

SELCO Community Credit Union is looking for a full-time Vice President Commercial Loan Officer to join our team at the Old Mill Branch in Bend, Oregon. This position will provide quality services to existing members and actively develop commercial and business banking relationships, as well as the development and maintenance of SELCO’s commercial loan portfolio. The successful candidate brings a minimum of five (5) years of commercial lending experience and must have a bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent related experience. Job duties include (please see the position description for a comprehensive list):

  • Interviewing members and potential borrowers requesting commercial and business banking services
  • Evaluating and interpreting information related to borrowers and prospects
  • Decision loan requests within stated parameters and authority and ensure adherence to sound analysis and lending practices and maintain compliance within the Commercial & Business Banking policies, procedures, federal and state regulations and other compliance obligations
  • Preparing information for and attend Business Loan Committee meetings and make presentations as required
  • Coordinating the preparation and execution of required loan documents
  • Overseeing collection activity related to designated loan portfolio
  • Preparing written and oral reports for the SELCO Board, management and other employees as required
  • Cross-selling and promoting SELCO services to members and the community. Representing SELCO in the community (e.g., trade and service organizations)
  • Demonstrating adaptability and leadership skills, and upholding SELCO’s mission statement, corporate values, service promises, and exceptional customer service standards

  • Firm understanding of financial analysis with the ability to analyze information and make sound loan decisions
  • Ability to systematically gather, read, retrieve, and interpret data
  • Outstanding professional communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing including through electronic channels
  • Sophisticated computer and software application skills, including Microsoft Office and other business systems
  • Good time management and organizational skills with a high level of initiative, responsibility, and accountability, including the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines
  • Strong analytical ability with active listening skills and the ability to work accurately with a close attention to detail

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent related experience; and
  • At least five (5) years of experience in commercial lending; and
  • Must be bondable
