Job Description:

The System Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the inhouse computer and server hardware and software systems. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all systems, processes, network software and communication links. The System Administrator is also responsible for Credit Union data backups to tape and electronic storage, resolving software and hardware backup issues and performing emergency data backups and restorations. This person will also analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required. This person is responsible for Symitar daily processing, troubleshooting and system enhancements in Symitar, communication and other related systems. Working with Symitar Programmers this person will perform software and hardware upgrades on host systems.  The position also includes other duties as assigned. This position reports to the IT Operations Manager.

Education:

  1. Five years of equivalent work experience or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other related areas and two years of work experience
  2. Working knowledge of Interactive Intelligence VoIP phone system
  3. Storage oversight and monitoring, planning, and maintenance/repair
  4. High availability management and planning

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Microsoft Client and Server OS
  • MS Office 365
  • Microsoft Terminal Services and related remote access technologies
  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Experience in all areas of local and wide area networks management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support; experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies; experience in desktop support and repair, experience supporting telecommunications equipment
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
  • VMWare vSphere/vCenter oversight and monitoring, planning, and maintenance/repair
  • Have excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Must be adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Is highly self-motivated and directed
