Job Description:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Responsible for preparation of financial statement data in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with preparation of NCUA 5300 Call Report, FR2900 and various other regulatory reports
  • Responsible for proper accounting of the investment portfolio, to include but not limited to, recording purchases and sales, performing reconciliations, posting monthly journal entries, and updating pledging/safekeeping
  • Contributes to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
  • Provides cross-training and support for all other duties and responsibilities within the accounting department
  • Responsible for evaluating and updating departmental procedures and policies
  • Assist with annual CPA, NCUA and compliance audits and examinations
  • Performs reconciliations of general ledger, correspondent bank, fixed assets and prepaid accounts
  • Ability to perform all accounting functions and have an understanding of Credit Union operations
  • Provides professional and quality internal support to all Credit Union departments and staff
  • Works directly with Controller and performs ad hoc tasks as assigned
  • Handle multiple projects in a given time, including during deadline periods

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Two or more years of related experience within a financial institution or related industry.
  • Strong computer skills’ including Excel is a must.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Extensive experience with regulatory compliance
