Job Description:

This will be an ideal opportunity for a skilled technologist to hone their craft and still explore new systems and disciplines.  We’re a small shop and everyone chips in when needed, but a successful candidate will be asked to help define their environment and build it out. We want someone with a passion for exploration and learning. They will also be exposed to leading security platforms and emerging tech. 

We need a candidate with demonstrated VMWare experience; Microsoft 365 is a big plus. 

Once established and familiar with our programs, this position will have an opportunity to set their own hours and telecommute. 

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Configure, deploy, and administer servers in a Hyper Converged VMWare environment.
  • Implement firmware and operating system updates and patches.
  • Perform critical system backups and recovery.
  • Assist with network and security administration.
  • Add users and troubleshoot domain and Azure issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server and network performance issues.
  • Identify areas of improvement for server infrastructure.
  • Provide second tier technical support and guidance to employees.
  • Contribute to Capacity Management planning and investments in scalable technologies.

Education/Experience Required:

Your experience, skills and knowledge should include:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, Exchange Server, SQL Server, Office 365, and other Microsoft Online systems.
  • Experience monitoring and collecting data pertinent to system operations and health and interpreting the information to identify, predict, and evaluate system and network requirements.
  • Familiarity with IIS, relational databases, web applications, VMWare, ITAR, and data security compliance a plus.
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one’s own work group.
