Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

  • APPLICATION PROGRAMMING/DEVELOPMENTAnalysis, development and support new/existing programs, utilities and applications as needed via PowerOn/PowerOn2, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, Java, JSON. Related development of forms, programs, utilities, and applications utilizing other languages such as C#, Python, .NET, PowerShell as needed. Web Services development as needed. Create workflows to assist with development of staff efficiencies.
  • PROJECTS & PLANNING – Provide research, planning, discovery due-diligence, justification, and implementation for new products to meet organization objectives. Testing, training, and implementation of projects. Test and implement new processes for departments, as needed. Make recommendations for changes on new and current processes as needed. Provides leadership, direction, and support of development. Assist IT Operations Manager in planning, assessment, implementation, and integration of products. Conduct development and training for staff as needed.
  • WORKFLOWAnalyze needs. Provide leadership and direction on Workflow development. Complete custom programming and development of the workflows as needed. Programming and development of OnBase forms (Unity, HTML, Java, SymForm, PDF), including coding/building forms to meet staff needs.
  • SENIOR EMPLOYEEWork with staff on developing the skills needed to grow in their software development skills. Complete coding reviews and providing suggestions to improve code.
  • DOCUMENTATION & REPORTINGDocumentation of procedures, programs, reporting and policies for all development. Reporting analysis and review for all development. Create custom reports and custom applications. Maintain code and updates on GitHub.
  • TECHNICAL SUPPORTStaff/Member support and troubleshooting of all related applications, utilities, and implementations as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Development

  • Responsible for full life cycle development including design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of simple to highly complex programs and utilities as needed. Create custom scripts to build efficiencies for the Credit Union.
  • Detailed analysis of system interactions to determine technical solutions and resolve problems, which are cost effective, built user efficiencies and system capabilities.
  • Work on multiple high-level projects concurrently.
  • Identifies and implements solutions to issues that are related to production level code defects or process changes.
  • Maintain effectiveness in knowledge through training resources, books, and conferences.
  • Develop reports, scripts, or programs using data gathered from multiple systems (SQL, OnBase, Core, intranet, etc.)

Workflow Development

  • Programming OnBase Workflow or Symitar EWF Development. Implement new processes and recommendations to improve CU efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership by programming workflows to implement new processes and recommending procedures to improve CU efficiencies. Building custom programs to enhance CU efficiencies.
  • Complete projects as needed related to workflows.

Web Development

  • Development, enhancement, and maintenance of the Internet/Intranet as needed or related to initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to increase web-based functionality for membership and employees.

Reporting

  • Maintain effective reporting/tracking of activity for delivery to management.
  • Develop reports as needed.
  • Assist BI as needed with data gathering or reporting.

Support

  • Works with Help Desk or staff to trouble shoot problems to identify if code related. Provides backup to helpdesk for incoming calls and tickets as needed.
  • Identifies problems related to software and determines corrective action.
  • Review and update procedures as needed.
  • Assist with IT training for staff as needed.
  • Performs required maintenance/updates of OnBase hardware and software as needed.
  • Assure integrity of systems and system security.
  • Support and administration of OnBase.
  • Provide full back up support for ECM Administrator as needed.
  • Provide quality service by meeting department standards, goals, and objectives.
  • Keep IT Operations Manager informed of any unusual occurrences or changes.

Senior Employee

  • Acts as senior employee.
  • Assists staff with questions related to development.
  • Provide guidance and review development and make suggestions to improve their code.
  • Provide staff training as needed.
  • Mentor staff in ways to develop their skills allowing them to learn additional ways to code.
  • Provide communication updates to IT Operations Manager.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Functional and practical knowledge in the following skills/languages: PowerOn/PowerOn2/RepGen, JavaScript, Java, JSON, .NET, C#, XML, HTML, CSS, PowerShell, GitHub and related development utilities and design environments.
  •  Practical knowledge of the following operating environments: Microsoft Windows, IIS, SQL, Web Services, WordPress, and other related environments.
  • Practical knowledge of communication protocols, hardware, and software.
  • The strong desire and ability to maintain a current knowledge of web/application development standards and technologies.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication abilities, including ability to teach and explain ideas and concepts with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills and capability to mentor employees by sharing knowledge to assist in the growth of employee skills.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and set priorities with changing business needs.
  • High degree of accuracy.
  • High degree of organization in personal workload and the ability to work unsupervised in the accomplishment of routine tasks and project deadlines.
  • Proficient computer systems and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet, schedule and deadline commitments.
  • Comprehension of image processing system concepts, and the ability to recommend integrated system solutions to problems.
  • Willing to work irregular hours including weekends and nights.
  • Ability to operate within a Windows environment. Proficiency with current Microsoft operating system and software.
  • Must be bondable.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Computer Science; or demonstrated comparable experience, required. Credit Union Core (Symitar) – Five (5) years’ experience preferred. Experience in several of the following: PowerOn/RepGen/PowerOn2, HTML5, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Java, and JSON.
  • Successful completion of PowerOn 1, 2 and 3. Equivalent work experience may be considered by showing workflow knowledge.
  • Successful completion of OnBase Administrator Training and OnBase Workflow Equivalent work experience may be considered by showing workflow knowledge.
  • Successful completion of OnBase API training. Equivalent work experience may be considered by showing applied knowledge of programming and development using the API.
  • Technical Experience – At least five (5) years-plus professional experience desired in a similar technology environment; other equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Financial Services Experience – Five (5) years-plus credit union/banking information technology experience preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Keyboard Proficiency – Minimum-typing speed of 30 wpm.
  • Communication Skills – Ability to hear by telephone and in person; and ability to read English by sight; and both speak and write English.

 

 

ESSENTIAL MENTAL, PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • General – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Other demands include talking, handling & reaching, seeing (corrected vision) and hearing in normal range. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. A telephone device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Occasional light lifting. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Periodic inter-branch or interdepartmental access may be required, including for distribution and access to various materials, equipment, meetings, etc.  Storage and retrieval of materials, maximum reach required is 84 inches.

  • Environmental – Minimal discomfort from heat, dust, air conditioning.  The noise level is usually moderate, including external road noise.  Transport within remote branch and/or main office/facility may be single or multilevel (as required) including a variety of stairways, elevators, etc. Exposure to computer and other electronic equipment.  Lunch/break area exposed to microwave; and is in the basement at main office.  Facility is 100% free of tobacco smoke.
  •  Equipment – Essential equipment used includes, but may not be limited to telephone, personal computer, other on-line computer terminal(s), calculator, office security systems.  Non-essential equipment generally includes paper shredder, typewriter, photocopy machine, facsimile (fax) machine, etc.
