Job Description:

WECU is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our Risk Management team located in Bellingham, WA. This role is responsible for assisting the Director of Risk Management to implement, maintain, and administer WECU’s Enterprise Risk Management Program, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Program, and the Vendor Management Program. the Roel is responsible for facilitating the identification and assessment of risks and controls, and developing, reporting, and monitoring identified risk exposures and risk action plans throughout the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

-Works with the Director of Risk Management to provide subject matter expertise in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate enterprise risk management tools, policies, and procedures to be compliant with applicable rules and regulations and industry best practices
-Identifies and recommends proactive and reactive risk management measures to Director of Risk Management to detect potential risk exposures and to defend against external and internal risk threats
-Works with Director of Risk Management to create, maintain, and update WECU’s enterprise risk and control registries
-Works closely with business units to identify and assess risks, map control structures, evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommends additional controls as appropriate
-Works with Director of Risk Management to conduct WECU’s annual enterprise risk assessment
-Works with the Project Management team to conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all new projects that may pose strategic, reputational, financial, member, employee, and compliance impacts
-Assists the Director of Risk Management in monitoring and maintaining WECU’s Business Continuity Program, including but not limited to the business impact analysis, risk assessment, plans, communications, and testing of program on enterprise and business unit levels
-Assists the Director of Risk Management in performing risk assessments on all current and future relationships and contracts with third party service providers to ensure that WECU maintains strong working relationships that serve to benefit the organization, and its employees and members
-Assists the Director of Risk Management with assuring that all vendor contracts are in line with WECU’s vendor management policies and practices and are reviewed by the vendor relationship manager on a routine basis for continual compliance
-Follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations. Follows policy and procedures related to SARs by reporting suspicious activity to the Compliance department. Completes mandatory BSA/AML annual training via online web course
-Performs other duties as assigned by management

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:

-Bachelors’ degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience
-Ability to utilize working knowledge of risk management best practices such as COSO Risk Management Framework
-Project Management knowledge and experience is a strong plus
