Job Description:

Idaho United Credit Union (IUCU) announces the search for its next President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The board of IUCU is looking for an exceptional and dynamic leader who will take a strategic and visionary approach to day-to-day operations and long-term planning while providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to the credit union. The CEO must be personable and ready to build strong relationships with employees, members, regulatory agencies, and the community. The next CEO will build on the legacy of IUCU and develop a strategy to expand and thrive among the many large credit unions in Idaho.

The CEO maintains a collaborative partnership with the board of directors and brings creativity, strategy, and vision to the conversation. IUCU has great growth potential, and the CEO will strategically lead the organization into the future. The CEO has an awareness and understanding of the industry and is in tune with all things Idaho, including marketplace dynamics, policies, and the economy. The CEO will propose and foster innovative thinking and fiduciary soundness to the board while sharing the associated risks and rewards.

The new CEO will be a mentor, coach, and leader to the IUCU staff. As a small credit union, staff must be cross-trained and able to step into other roles as needed. The CEO will develop a plan for training, coaching, and developing the current team, while also preparing for future staffing needs. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least seven years of experience in a financial services leadership role, preferably in a credit union
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and structure of the credit union industry, with a strong background in lending and investing, preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, vision, strategic, and critical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal skills balanced with business acumen
