Job Description:

Our Special Assets department is looking for an Operation Associate to join their team. We need someone with prior experience working in a financial institution with a focus on collections or default services; you’ll also need strong customer service and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities.

Here’s what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:

Job Duties

  • Perform default servicing and monetary transactions in various systems e.g. Salesforce, DNA, FIS, Accelerant; transactions may include chargebacks, credits, account closures, and disabling debit or credit cards
  • Process account conditioning requests for the collections, servicing, and liquidation teams; conditions may include turning off discretionary services, locking/flagging account, charge offs and account closures
  • Assist management with research request and special projects
  • Respond to incoming requests from internal business units in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide proof and validation of member obligation to debt
  • Communicate fraud investigation results with credit reporting to agency
  • Organize work to meet competing deadlines in accordance with regulatory and/or servicer guidelines

Essential skills

  • Minimum 1 year prior experience working in a financial institution with a focus on collections or default services required
  • Thorough understanding of default services, e.g. remarketing, repossessions, loan workouts and modifications
  • Proficiency in mathematics and Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret regulatory statutes
  • Ability to research and analyze information and make recommendations to leadership
  • Experience handling sensitive documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Efficient problem solver, with the ability to identify issues and make modifications to work output within pre-established guidelines
  • Must be detail focused and able to manage multiple projects or work assignments simultaneously
