Job Description:

Essential duties:

  • Originates high-quality mortgage loans, including Conventional, Jumbo, FHA, USDA, VA loans, construction loans and Reverse mortgages
  • Meets with potential customers to understand their financial needs and find the best mortgage product to meet those needs
  • Initiates marketing activities and promotional strategies to attract new customers
  • Manages the customer experience through the entire loan process, from origination and analysis to loan closing

 

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years mortgage lending experience in a financial services setting, including documented ability to self-generate at least $1.2 million per month
  • Experience with FHA, VA and USDA and Reverse Mortgages
  • Flexible hours, weekend hours and after hours a must
  • Must be able to pass a background and credit check
  • Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and maintain registration with NMLS as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to educate borrowers on loan products and processes
  • Maintain current knowledge of mortgage products
  • Knowledge of desktop underwriting
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to market changes
  • Ability to take accurate and thorough loan applications
  • Ability to create, implement and adapt a market penetration strategy for lead development, prospect to client conversion and client to close conversion
  • Proficient with personal computers and related software products such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
