PRIMARY FUNCTION: Administer an effective delinquency control and follow-up program.

DUTIES:

  1. Administer collection program for members with delinquent loans, over-limit Visa accounts and negative share accounts.
  2. Review and recommend delinquent/overdrawn accounts for charge-off and referral to outside agencies.
  3. Consult with member concerning hardship extension requests of loan payments for approval by management.
  4. Process and review bankruptcy paperwork.
  5. Process incoming garnishments.
  6. Handles credit bureau disputes.
  7. Provides accurate reporting to ChexSystems on overdrawn/charged off share accounts.
  8. Processes share charge offs.
  9. Reviews ACH NSF exception reports.
  10. Works excessive CP report.
  11. Works inactive overdrawn checking account report.
  12. Reviews and processes transfer share/loan exception reports.
  13. Submits accounts to collection.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  2. Must be able to use computer keyboard and mouse.
  3. Must be able to view computer monitor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school or equivalent education required.
  2. Recent credit union/financial institution experience in collections required.
  3. Bankruptcy experience in a financial institution preferred.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
  6. Ability to deal with members in difficult situations.
