Job Description:

The Member Experience Designer interacts at all levels of the organization, including members, senior leadership, key business stakeholders and partners to create human centered designs that are easy, engaging and meet the needs of members, business objectives and experiences through all channels. This individual acts as an advocate to ensure a frictionless and engaging member experience across all credit union touchpoints. This will be accomplished through a wide range of initiatives, including user research, analytics, and user-centered design to drive decisions that have a direct impact on the member experience, including digital channels as well as human-assisted product, process, and service experiences in channels across the organization including in-person, remote and digital and as delivered by all business lines, while ensuring our commitment for unparalleled service – the kind that creates the Unitus difference. As an ideal candidate, you will have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual communication design, graphic design, user experience design, or related field; equivalent work experience in lieu of education.
  • 2 years’ experience of user experience design centered on design thinking and human-centric design
  • Must have includes strong technical business writing experience
  • Agile/Iterative training experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
  • PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite), with the ability to learn new software and demonstrate services through the use of technology.
  • Strong ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and performing follow through on problems through resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills including effective listening, speaking, problem solving and tact in dealing with internal and external members and colleagues.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and exercise good judgment, initiative and tact in dealing with members, supervisors, and staff.
  • Deep understanding of Voice of Customer (VoC) advocacy, customer insights/analytics.
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility and the ability to execute, articulate and advocate for these outcomes in your designs.
  • Experience in Persona creation and user experience journey mapping.
  • Experience with visual design tools.
  • Up to date expertise in human-centered design best practices
  • Excellent conceptual, organizational, and problem-solving skills with creative ability to envision and articulate the user experience.
  • Experience working within an Agile framework
  • Ability to calculate figures and percentages, collect and analyze data, and understand usability metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong listening, verbal, written communication skills with the ability to propose big ideas to communicate design opportunities, explore them visually, and distill them into an actionable direction across all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and commitments, with attention to detail and follow through, including working with virtual project teams with quick turnaround times.
