The Lending Analyst is an important member of the credit union as they provide needed data and reports for management to use in making decisions about the direction of the credit union. The Lending Analyst also provides needed support to credit union systems so that our Lending Departments and other staff can assist our members in prospering financially. The Lending Analyst is responsible for researching and detailing the technical and computer-related aspects of lending operations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct all job responsibilities with consideration of the Credit Union’s mission, vision and values.
  • Build, review, and analyze lending and collection reports.
  • Analyze and document factors contributing to loan losses.
  • Proactively review Credit Risk Management reports to find trends and make recommendations for underwriting changes.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and assist with data needs.
  • Demonstrate a service focused approach with all engagements and requests.
  • Assist with generating 5300 Call Report and other financial reports.
  • Acquires and maintains a detailed knowledge of the computer applications for all lending and collection products offered by Seattle Credit Union.
  • Responsible for working with vendors providing services for lending and collection products in order to facilitate the initial installation and the continuing implementation, development, and maximization of the applications selected for use in support of the products offered by Seattle Credit Union.
  • Responsible for documentation of procedures related to processes using the computer applications as assigned by the Senior Lending Analyst.
  • Stay current with all updates for new releases of applicable programs for procedure changes and training needs.
  • Identifies methods to ensure affected users of all types of learning styles are aware of system functions and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with branch and back office staff to document problems or desired improvements to computer applications.
  • Determine and implement updates/patches for problems discovered in the computer applications related to lending and collection operations.

Other duties may be assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment; Occasional remote work may be available.
  • May be required to attend off-hours meetings.
  • Indirect exposure to robbery.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent financial institution experience, plus at least 2 years’ experience in lending operation functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations such as Reg Z (Truth in Lending), Fair Lending, Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Extensive knowledge of lending functions, credit union history and philosophy preferred.
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills are required.
  • Advanced skills in PowerBI preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Superb organizational and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a quick-paced environment.
  • Uses tact, discretion, and courtesy to communicate within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand computer applications designed for personal computers.
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality.
