Role Summary:

The Human Resources Manager/Team Leader is directly responsible for the supervision and leadership of the credit union’s Talent Acquisition (recruitment) and Rewards & Relations (benefits administration, compensation management, leave management, HRIS administration, personnel changes, and team member relations) teams and ensures successful execution of functional objectives in these areas. The Human Resources Manager/Team Leader partners with leaders across the organization to ensure effective performance management and talent management that align with company initiatives including the ongoing goal to remain an employer of choice.

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. Leads team of Human Resources professionals, providing direction, coaching and development for all staff.
  2. Plans, organizes, and handles all operational aspects of the department. Assists the AVP of Team Engagement in developing goals, objectives, and systems.
  3. Establishes department records and reports. Prepare reports and presentation when requested.
  4. Provides reports and analysis to leadership and tracks progress of the department in relation to goals and metrics.
  5. Recommends innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  6. Ensures that job descriptions are maintained, updated, consistent and clear.
  7. Partners with Team Member Experience (TMX) to plan and complete team member activities and recognition programs that are current and relevant.
  8. Provide ongoing support to HR Leadership related HR matters, policies, and procedures.
  9. Implement, administer, and interpret corporate policies and procedures.
  10. Maintain affirmative action program files EEO-1 annually, maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Provides training to all management.
  11. Lead the benefits and compensation functions. Responsible for implementation, and maintenance of a competitive benefits package.
  12. Leads full benefits administration functions and corresponding team member experience.
  13. Leads retirement planning and succession planning tools including 401k and pension plan.
  14. Manages the team member relations programs; performance management processes; disciplinary action and team member concerns program.
  15. Ensures compliance with all State and Federal Employment laws and regulations. Represents Gesa in matters concerning EEOC and unemployment compensation claims. Provide support with all legal matters.
  16. Manage investigations; document, make recommendations to leadership and maintain excellent files.
  17. Manage department functions including budgets; employee files and records; and timely preparation of Workers Compensation, OSHA and other regulatory reports.
  18. Partner with the Learning and Development department to provide training or team members and team leaders.
  19. Provide compensation support including salary planning and actions, promotions, job evaluation and descriptions.
  20. Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.

What You Will Need:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management (HRM) or equivalent relevant experience at a minimum of five (5) years.
  2. PHR/SPHR desirable, but not required.
  3. Five to eight years of experience in an HR leadership role.
  4. Have extensive knowledge of benefits administration, EEO/AA regulations, recruitment, and other regulated issues including reporting requirements.
  5. Familiarity with HRIS systems and standard reporting.
  6. Possess skills required to effectively empower or influence others while displaying a significant level of tact and trust.
  7. Proficient with standard office equipment and Microsoft Office software programs
