Job Description:

The Human Resources Manager plays a critical part in supporting and advancing the culture that makes iQ so uniQue. Providing management of the day-to-day operations of the Credit Union’s HR department, supporting the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs, and services, and working with management and staff to ensure the goals and objectives of the HR department’s works align with the overall Credit Union strategy and an delivering on an exceptional employee experience.


  • Manage daily operations of the HR Department; functional areas include: employee wellbeing, benefits and leave administration, recruitment & retention, payroll administration, compensation administration, performance management & employee relations, HR compliance, HRIS administration.
  • Provide direction, guidance, training, and coaching to human resources personnel. Ensure service standards and performance objectives are met.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of human resources procedures and functions. Ensure compliance of applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and government reporting requirements, including but not limited to: Affirmative Action, Equal Employment, state and federal leave laws, ADA, ERISA, COBRA, OSHA, etc.
  • Ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles are applied consistently across HR programs and initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations throughout the Credit Union including onboarding, employee communication, stay interviews, exit interviews, conflict resolution, and coaching. Ensure employee relations practices promote positive morale.
  • Manage the administration of employee benefit programs, including, but not limited to: medical, dental, life insurance, disability, retirement, employee assistance, education assistance, and other benefits. Ensure legal compliance of employee benefit programs. Develop and deliver benefit education initiatives.
  • Provide management of the recruitment function. Work closely with HR Recruiter to ensure a positive experience throughout the recruitment process for both applicants and hiring managers.
  • Ensure Employee Handbook, HR Policy Manual, and other HR forms and resources are updated and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Oversee the Credit Unions performance appraisal process. Assist management in the administration of performance planning and review program, including promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Manage job descriptions and evaluate jobs using established evaluation system.
  • Ensure employee compensation plan is equitable and competitive. Recommend pay and range adjustments as needed
  • Prepare and report on a wide variety of HR and organizational performance analytics.


  • Experience: Five years to eight years of progressive HR experience is required. A minimum of two years managing an HR department is desired.
  • Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HRIS administration; Paycom experience preferred.
  • Ability to foster and support a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and growth.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; experience designing and implementing internal communication plans related to functional area.

Remote Work:

We take an employee-first approach to remote work. While not required, this position is eligible to work-from-home approximately four days per week. The selected individual must live in Washington or Oregon and be able to commute into the workplace as needed.
