The Financial Education Coordinator works to develop, implement and evaluate Rogue’s Financial Education strategy. Works with the Marketing Department to achieve departmental and business goals in pursuit of Rogue Credit Union’s Vision and Mission.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
50% Responsible for developing, implementing and continuously evolving Rogue’s financial education for members in a variety of mediums, methods and platforms that supports our organizational goals. Develops financial education and facilitates financial education workshops and trainings. Builds relationships with schools and non-profits and works to position Rogue in the community as the premier provider of financial education. Develops and conducts financial education classes and seminars.

20% Actively manages Rogue Credit Union’s financial education website, Manages financial education tracking, reporting and evaluation system. Responsible for management of the Dollars + $ense program, including creating new Dollars +$ense monthly content to be used across multiple channels. Responsible for creating content, planning and coordinating financial education through email series, educational videos and other channels for the Marketing Team to produce. Coordinates and creates monthly newsletter.

15% Responsible for the Rogue Rangers Youth Program including working with the Branch Ambassadors to ensure branch activities are up-to-date, creating quarterly activities and scheduling events.

10% Works on special projects as assigned, including assisting with promotions and marketing events, including, but not limited to; community events, educational events, etc.

5% Proactively performs other duties as assigned or required.

Performance Measurements:
1. Supports and practices Rogue’s Vision, Mission, Values and Loyalty Culture. Utilize the Service Promises with both internal and external members. Embraces Rogue’s community involvement and financial education program in a positive and proactive manner.

2. Effectively communicates education to targeted groups by delivering materials (oral and/or written) in
appropriate mediums. This often includes working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

3. Develops tracking mechanisms to measure effectiveness of education delivered across different mediums. Accurately prepares and delivers monthly reports on success of financial education program.

4. Provides a needs-assessment analysis to identify community education needs in a timely manner and adjust as needed.

5. Ensures program and project implementation activities are aligned with organizational goals.

6. Demonstrates ability to compose grammatically correct copy that has consistent formatting and is in
alignment with our brand.

7. Meets all training objectives and goals established for the year.

8. Maintains a thorough understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures, as well as an understanding of the Credit Union’s mission and vision.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience – Three to five years of similar or related experience.

Education – Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

Interpersonal Skills – A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills – Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to create relationships with the
community and staff. Must treat staff as “members” by using the Service Promises when serving them through every interaction. Must be able to operate basic computer software (Microsoft Office Suite) . Experience with program development, including curriculum development & delivery preferred. Strong ability to teach, give speeches and presentations. Most possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and access to reliable transportation. Professionalism in appearance, dress and attitude is a must.

Physical Requirements – Some lifting required (up to 50 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer is required. Frequent talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Must be capable of preparing and setting up for various training and events which may include more extensive physical requirements.

Work Environment – This job is an hourly position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the Credit Union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Travel to all credit union regions may be required.
