Director of Human Resources

The role has oversight for recruitment, compensation, benefits, talent management, regulatory compliance, and employee relations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification desired.
  • Minimum five years in human resources management.
  • SHRM certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience recruiting all levels of staff in a highly competitive environment preferred.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide senior-level leadership and guidance to the credit union’s HR operations. Oversee and administer all aspects of Human Resources functions including employee relations, benefits, salary administration, performance management, DEI and recruiting.

DUTIES:

  1. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the credit union’s human resources function and performance.
  2. Participate with senior management in the development of the credit union’s strategic plans and programs with emphasis on the impact on employees.
  3. Evaluate and advise on programs and strategies as those items relate to the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the credit union employees.
  4. Develop staffing/recruitment strategies and implementation plans/programs to identify talent within and outside the credit union.
  5. Manage, communicate and ensure compliance and consistency with regulations, office practices, policies, and compliance with all employment-related laws
  6. Manage HR Dept. staff.
  7. Design and implement policies that reinforce diversity in the workplace, address all kinds of harassment and protect minority groups. Train managers and HR staff on how to select, manage, evaluate and retain a diverse workforce.
  8. Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources and talent management.
  9. Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives, retention, and satisfaction of credit union employees.
  10. Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps.
  11. Assist in the development of talent management and succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions.
  12. Manage human resources related budgets.
  13. Serve as liaison to the Board of Director’s Employee Compensation Review Committee.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

  8. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  9. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  10. Must be able to use computer keyboard and mouse.
  11. Must be able to view computer monitor.
