Dealer Relationship Representative

DEPARTMENT:  Consumer Lending

This position requires a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record to operate company vehicles.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dealer Relationship Representative is a key player in Verity’s strategic growth objectives. The Dealer Relationship Representative is responsible for managing Verity’s indirect lending relationships with independent and franchise auto dealerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outside sales, business development, establishing and managing profitable relationships as well as knowledge of the credit union’s auto loan products and services. Additional responsibilities include improving current dealer relationships, terminating non-performing dealers and attending industry and job related special events and promotions. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Grow market share with current dealers while generating new business opportunities through prospecting within the independent and franchise dealer market
  • Manage a preferred dealer network of new and current auto dealers to focus on and drive deeper relationships with to grow Verity’s indirect lending portfolio
  • Prepare action plans and schedules with Business Development Manager to identify specific targets and project number of contacts made on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Follow-up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity in both independent and franchise dealers
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts assigned to you
  • Prepare presentations and proposals for all levels of management to keep clients up-to-date on any changes to Verity products and services
  • Assist with the preparation of sales contracts by educating the dealer on what is needed for proper verification by Verity Credit Union
  • Act as liaison between dealerships and Verity’s Business Development Manager and consumer lending staff
  • Maintain knowledge of current market conditions and competitive landscape
  • Analyze and review weekly and monthly dealer production reports
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events for independent and franchise dealers
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and adhere to all applicable state driving laws
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an outside sales role, preferably in an automobile related industry highly desired
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience or equivalent highly desired
  • Experience in a position involving extensive public contact preferred
  • Post secondary course work in business, communications, lending or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in the financial or auto dealer industry strongly preferred
  • A valid driver’s license
