Job Description:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Develops, drives and oversees uniform data access program and use environment. Utilizes data warehouse and various business intelligence tools to meet rigorous data quality and governance requirements. Identifies best approaches to meet program requirements. Follows the strategic data roadmap and assists in the transition to managed data by developing a sustainable data environment. Demonstrates a rigorous, and analytical problem-solving approach, leading information gathering sessions and preparing and delivering presentations and work products/prototypes. Provides thought leadership, frameworks, best practices required to deliver effective solutions.
  2. Builds and leads cross functional technical team that develops, delivers, and supports data strategy and initiatives. Hires, manages, coaches, and motivates, a cross functional data warehouse team members with different skill sets and motivators. Influences team to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work while building high morale and commitment to goals. Utilizes Gallup strengths-based management principles and continuous coaching to provide each employee with role clarity, clear performance expectations, meaningful recognition, skill development and professional growth paths. Communicates and collaborates with other leaders and employees to develop and share strategies and results.
  3. Responsible for data project delivery; ensures enterprise-wide stake holder satisfaction in their use of data to perform day-to-day operations and achieve organizational goals. Manages a portfolio of data warehouse and business intelligence projects/programs/engagements within established scope, schedule, resources, and budget; tracks and ensures timely delivery of milestones/deliverables of projects and programs; ensures all deliverables are clearly specified, scoped, and agreed upon. Holds retrospectives to ensure ongoing learning and development through iterations of the program.


Bachelors degree in computer sciences or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum ten years of data warehouse, business intelligence and data management experiences. Minimum three years participation in data governance requirements for data warehouse and business intelligence. Minimum 5 years experience with project leadership, task management, and program management. Experience in a credit union or other financial institution preferred

Knowledge Requirements

  1. Knowledge of the various options for enterprise data integration, reporting, business intelligence and data movement.
  2. Understands contemporary data integration architectures and data management such as SOA, Data Links and ESB.
  3. In-depth knowledge of data governance, data management approaches, and tools and the role of data governance in the successful implementation of a data strategy.
  4. Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  5. Knowledge in the design and development of ETL, various decision-making data stores and processes using SSIS for SQL Server.
  6. Familiarity with the many standard approaches to business intelligence / analytics; strong experience in deployment of business intelligence /analytics.

  2. Experience with the integration of Data Management technologies with other information technologies (e.g., compilers, data modeling tools, data base dictionaries, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct supervisory responsibility.

Interpersonal Contacts

Continuous contact with employees. Frequent contact with members and community leaders. Occasional contact with vendors.

Workplace of Choice

This position has flexibility to work from home. Schedule to be coordinated with management to ensure business need is met.
