Job Description:

CapEd’s Credit Resolution Specialist will contact members by phone and/or mail to collect on past due accounts/loans to cure delinquency and/or recommend appropriate actions for resolution. The Credit Resolution Specialist adheres to provisions as set forth in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and ensures collection activity is always within Credit Union policy and all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities include managing assigned delinquent loans and share accounts through contact with the member by phone and/or mail; accountable for reducing delinquency and charge-offs numbers; takes appropriate action to bring account current/positive. Maintains records of all collection efforts.

Adheres to provisions as set forth in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and ensure collection activity is within credit union policy and all relevant regulations. Provides friendly, prompt, and professional support to all members and coworkers. Answer telephone, wait on members in lobby, respond to written correspondence, and telephone messages promptly. Ensures work produced has minimal errors.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • One to three years of similar or related experience
  • Experience in all aspects of collections including timely correspondence, repossessing and sale of collateral, court proceedings, collection record keeping, charge offs, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA)
  • Ability to provide friendly, prompt, professional and accurate service and support to all members and coworkers
  • Spanish Bilingual preferred but not required
