Job Overview:

Assists in the development, delivery, and financial education activities of the CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) program. Responsible for building and developing targeted community relationships and strategic partnerships. Identifies and pursues new partnership opportunities, makes business and consumer presentations, prospects new partner relationships, grows existing partner relationships. Maintains the credit unions professional image and is responsible for identifying and coordinating CDFI member and community events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Executes a community relations/CDFI program that focuses on targeted areas

outlined by the Executive Management Team. Recommends new products and services based on perceived target market needs and wants. Demonstrates self- motivation and takes initiative in supporting relationship building with key community groups and individuals for long-term and short-term support.

Identifies and promotes opportunities for community economic development utilizing across all segments of the organization to best understand and communicate the value of all of CCU services to key community stakeholders.

Develop and deliver Credit Union presentations to a variety of public groups/agencies that serve our market to increase awareness of the Credit Union, our products, and services. Displays a sense of urgency in creating and maintaining an organizational calendar of public relations activities reaching the community and public at large.

Participate in the implementation of a financial education program to ensure staff development including the Credit Unions’ mobile unit. Actively partners and collaborates with Branch Supervisors to develop branch outreach initiatives based on branch neighborhood and branch consumer base.

Provides creative solutions in identifying and prospecting new partners, cold calling, networking, and professional contacts. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bilingual- Spanish REQUIRED
  • 1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job- specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship 3 years or more of similar or related experience required
  • Credit union and/or community bank experience preferred
  • Comfortable making clear and concise oral and written presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Self-Motivated with strong organizational/time management and project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills High emotional intelligence and the art of persuasion are assets for this role.
  • Maintain current credit union/financial services knowledge, industry trends, and sales/presentation best practices.
  • Think creatively, speak tactfully, work independently, and accept

Other Skills:

Ability to travel locally and have reliable transportation with insurance required. Available on some Saturdays/evenings/early mornings required. Ability to attend local and non-local conferences. Proficient in using and learning sales tracking and reporting software. Possess the skills, knowledge, and ability to build relationships that lead to new revenue generation and meet production goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM/Monday-Friday

Pay: 45k Annual Salary – DOE
