Role:

Analyzes data and generates reports that help Rogue Credit Union’s leaders and employees make data informed decisions. Strategically studies and evaluates information from many sources. Develops meaningful and usable assessments to make recommendations consistent with the credit union’s mission, vision and filter to aid in creating value for the membership, supporting creation of the most loyal members in the nation.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

25% Proactively analyzes data from a variety of sources to uncover trends, reveal insights, and make recommendations that contribute to achieving credit union and program goals and long term objectives. Uses independent judgment to make decisions that may impact the credit union as a whole.

25% Works with stakeholders across the organization to identify and integrate data sources, provides reports and data in a usable format for project teams, managers, decision makers, or departments as requested, focused on distilling complex analysis and insight into easily digestible stories through effective data visualization.

25% Analyzes the ongoing business operations of the credit union and makes recommendations on opportunities that will increase member participation in response to requests from business stakeholders. Effectively prioritizes work to align with user stories and tasks assigned in the Business Intelligence and Analytics backlog, ensuring transparency with stakeholders on expected delivery of output.

10% Provides recommendations to management of how data can translate to tools that staff can utilize to deliver exceptional service and deepen member participation.

5% Provides regular competitive analysis based on current and potential new markets.

5% Provides training and ongoing support to power users.

5% Proactively performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience. Experience evaluating business needs and user requirements in a related position.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and/or applicable experience in financial services.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills: Extensive use of SQL and RDBMS systems (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc) and data warehouse implementations. Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts. Experience with ETL and BI tools, programming / scripting experience and knowledge of software development life cycle. Excellent organization and time management skills. Strong data mining, analysis and report building skills. Strategic, critical thinking skills. Ability to motivate or influence others using diplomacy. Ability to communicate technical and detailed financial information to non-technical and financially minded people. Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality. Excellent PC Skills with the aptitude to learn new software. Team player and dependable.

Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to all credit union regions may be required.
