Job Description:

Business Development Specialist/Loan Officer

Located in the Ironworkers USA Credit Union Seattle/Tukwilla branch inside the Ironworkers Local 86 office, the Business Development Specialist/Loan Officer will split her/his time between processing loans for members and building relationships with the Local, current and prospective members and those in the Ironworker apprenticeship program.

This is a Jack- orJill-of-all trades-type of position that works closely with the Branch Lead. The Business Development Specialist/Loan Officer will be responsible for:

  • Leading financial education training for Local 86’s apprentices
  • Creating and implementing member appreciation programs
  • Cross-selling and educating members on Credit Union tools that will help them gain financial success
  • Performing basic financial transactions and cash handling duties
  • Acting as the main point of contact throughout the loan process
  • Handling the loan application process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of all members’ loans

  • Passionate about building relationships and enthusiastic about helping members get into better financial positions
  • Willing to participate in community and business affairs, as necessary, to contribute to the image of the Credit Union
  • Flexible and available to work occasionally on weekends or evenings

Qualifications

  • 2 years banking/credit union experience, highly desired
  • 1-3 years banking/credit union loan experience, highly desired
  • 1-3 years experience in a fast-paced retail/sales, cash handling
  • Spanish bi-lingual, highly desirable
  • Experience with our data processor CMC/Flex preferred
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft software and email
  • Self motivated with the ability to consistently exceed member expectations
  • Ability to work evening and weekend, occasionally
