Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Identification of potential high-value strategic partners via a robust evaluation model
  2. Disciplined and creative recruitment of strategic partners
  3. Development and presentation of value-additive package(s) of products, services and other benefits which are attractive and compelling to partner organizations and their stakeholders
  4. Within pre-determined limits, negotiation of partnership agreements including length of contracts, performance/production expectations, brand exposure, exclusivity, technology deployment, etc.
  5. Collaboration and coordination with internal credit union teams to ensure seamless execution of partnership commitments
  6. Continued maintenance and enhancement of relationship to optimize results and ensure partner loyalty — with the result being the acquisition of new members, increases to loan and deposit balances, deepening of product penetration and the expansion of brand prominence

SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  1. Proven ability to develop and optimize strategic partnerships with the primary objective of achieving growth in membership, assets and brand exposure
  2. Proven ability to assess and understand partner needs and tailor a suite of products and services that meet and exceed those needs
  3. Highly developed ability to create and present executive-level proposals and reports
  4. Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve departmental and organizational objectives
  5. Proven ability to draft, negotiate, interpret and manage partnership agreements
  6. Proven ability to create and present performance reports to stakeholders
  7. Proven ability to make decisions in a timely manner and articulate the reasoning for your decisions
  8. Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands effectively
  9. Proven ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently, with minimal supervision
  10. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  11. Proficient with MS office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
  13. General familiarity with financial service products and services

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 10+ years of successful business development and employee benefit sales experience with large employers
  2. General familiarity with financial service products and services
  3. Bachelor’s degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Per the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, this is considered a sedentary position.

  • Frequent sitting (31-70%).
  • Occasional walking and standing (11-30%).
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently, including negligible forces.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on a seldom basis.
  • Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work environment is indoors, in a clean office area.
