Micro-communities are groups of credit union employees, advocates, and champions that are working together to build a brighter future for credit unions. They are Credit Union Chapters, Young Professional Networking Groups, Sister Societies of the Global Women’s Leadership Network, Credit Union Development Educator Networks, and more. Micro-communities embody the spirit of collaboration and collective action and are a vital component of the Credit Union Movement.

Eastern Idaho Sister Society

The Global Women’s Leadership Network is the credit union industry’s only international platform designed to facilitate greater gender equality in credit unions, including increasing the number of women in leadership positions. To advance this mission on a local level, Sister Societies of the GWLN have been established around the world. Last fall marked the launch of the first group of Sister Societies in our region: The Northwest Chapter of Sister Societies.

The Northwest Chapter is now part of a network of 44 Chapters across 16 countries, founded to encourage, prepare, promote, and develop women for credit union executive leadership roles.
