About the Event
Featuring guest speaker George Edward, a retired Risk Management Officer for WECU and author of the book “How to Steal from Mom, A Wake-Up Call for Seniors.”
George will be speaking on how to prevent elder abuse and fraud against seniors. George investigated over 120 cases of senior fraud in his career. His book, “How to Steal from Mom,” is a primer on how and why adult children steal from their elderly parents and what we can do to stop it. The book gives insightful examples of financial fraud and how adult children can manipulate bank accounts to drain their parent’s savings. In addition, George will also cover lottery scams, dating scams, and other types of fraud. In addition, the chapter will be collecting cash donations in support of Bellingham Meals on Wheels.
