About the HR & Trainers' Council

The HR & Trainers’ Council provides a forum for credit union professionals in human resources and training to learn about new techniques, preview other credit union’s practices, and share professional presentations in this self-directed forum. The open format of this Council serves to encourage and recharge staff dealing with similar challenges and developments within the Credit Union Movement. Human resources and training professionals will gather to learn, teach, and pass on tips; providing resources, information, and networking and professional development opportunities to best prepare for what’s on the horizon.

Aspiring Leaders Program
With employees craving growth opportunities in their credit union, the team at Rivermark set out to help employees develop and utilize leadership skills within their current roles. Participants in the program gained hands on experience in communication, strategic planning, team collaboration, presentation skills and project management. The program provided the building blocks needed to expand a leadership presence in current roles and gain readiness for future positions. Advocacy – Wait…What?
Interested in employee retentions, supporting the credit union movement, and ensuring credit unions don’t lose our cooperative not-for-profit structure? Perfect! We are going to focus on the importance of credit union Advocacy, and what you should know as a leader at your credit union. We will participate in a hands-on Advocacy training that will help strengthen our movement and your credit union, and share all the resources at your fingertips to help develop Advocacy training in your shop.
