Session 1Thurs, Feb. 4
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PT
10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. MT
The first Financial Strategy Council meeting will shed light on how to develop a strong interest rate risk mitigation strategy that includes the use of derivatives.

Attendees will hear from a firm representative that’s successfully helped credit unions implement derivatives programs during the first hour. Council members also will hear from Henry Darakhovsky, SVP of Treasury at BECU, who will share his experience setting up a credit union derivatives program with the proper internal controls and expertise to help credit unions navigate accounting challenges and adequately assess risks.

There will be time for a roundtable discussion, where credit union leaders can share some of the natural balance sheet hedging strategies they have deployed and discuss whether using derivatives makes sense for their credit unions.
