The House and Senate remain in recess and will return on September 5th. While Congress is away, your CUNA Advocacy team has been meeting with Congressional staff regarding regulatory relief, tax reform, and appropriations legislation. Last week the FHFA responded to CUNA and other Financial Trade Associations on their inquiry about alternative credit scoring models… the NCUA released a regulatory reform plan for comment… and the CFPB launched a new web form for regulatory inquiries. Wow – the year is officially half way over. Both the House and Senate are back in session this week after their July 4th Recess. Congress will be in for the next three weeks until their scheduled August recess.
Due to the holiday, both the House and Senate are out on recess this week, but will be back in the swing of things next week. The Senate did not act on the Republican’s health care bill, but is expected to do so in the coming weeks.
