Joe Adamack is the Vice President of Legislative Affairs for the Northwest Credit Union Association in Washington. In this role, he represents the interests of the state’s 85 credit unions and their members before the Legislature, statewide elected officials, and agencies to ensure state laws and rules support and foster a positive regulatory environment that allows credit unions to best serve their members. Adamack also oversees the association’s political activities by managing the Credit Union Legislative Action Fund supporting candidates for legislative and statewide office.

Prior to joining the NWCUA Adamack worked for seven years as staff in the Washington State Senate where he managed public affairs, media relations, and external advocacy on behalf of multiple state legislators. During his time there he became a key staffer on the state operating budget, tax policy, education, transportation, and a variety of other issues. He has also worked at the county and city levels of government and advised on legislative and statewide ballot initiative campaigns.

Adamack, a lifelong Washington resident, attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, where he studied history, politics, and government, graduating as a Coolidge Otis Chapman Honors Scholar. He served as a local planning commissioner and was elected chairman for three of his five years on the panel.

Credit unions have long been a priority and point of pride in his family, with his great-grandfather having been a co-founder of a local credit union, with the institution’s first-ever account still remaining in his family to this day. Adamack looks forward to working with credit union leaders and their members to ensure they are well represented and successful in state government.
