Elizabeth Baker is the Communications Director for the Northwest Credit Union Association. In this role, she is responsible for developing and delivering timely, engaging messaging for the Association’s credit union members and NWCUA leadership, supervising and contributing to the creation of strategic communications plans, managing the Association’s social media channels, and other related communications responsibilities.
Baker brings extensive experience, with a background in higher education and healthcare communications, as well as many years spent as a newspaper journalist. She served in public relations and communications roles at higher education institutions, including Pima Medical Institute and Central Washington University, has worked as a public relations account manager at an agency in Tucson, owned and operated her own communications agency, and worked as a reporter in Washington state and Arizona. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in creative writing at the University of Arizona, where she also worked in her first newsroom as a campus public safety reporter for the university’s student-run newspaper, the Daily Wildcat.
Each and every day, Baker is inspired by credit unions’ dedication to members, compassion for the communities they serve, and steadfast support of Main Street businesses. She’s proud to be part of the Credit Union Movement.
