Carmen Vigil serves as Community Manager for the Northwest Credit Union Association. In this role she has the pleasure of connecting with various micro-communities across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho including Credit Union Chapters, Councils, Leaders of Small Credit Unions, Young Credit Union Professionals, Alumni of Western CUNA Management School, and more. She also coordinates fundraising efforts for Credit Unions for Kids, including leading the volunteer Auction Committee in planning efforts for the annual CU4Kids Auction held during NWCUA’s annual convention. She serves as a member of the Juntos Avanzamos Advisory Board and volunteers for various organizations including Financial Beginnings and the Treehouse Graduation Success program.
Carmen has worked in various roles within the credit union movement for over five years. Prior to her role at the NWCUA, she supported Rivermark Community Credit Union as Internal Audit Specialist. During her time at Rivermark, she was active on multiple committees including Community and Governmental Affairs. She also served as a board member for the Young Credit Union Professionals (YCUP) networking group. Carmen graduated from Portland State University in 2013 with a degree in political science.
Carmen is passionate about the impact that credit unions make in the communities they serve. A true believer of the ‘people helping people’ mantra, she enjoys connecting with people and helping them succeed.
