OCCU Foundation Donates $15,000 in Scholarships to Junction City Students

OCCU Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Oregon Community Credit Union based in of Eugene, Oregon, donated $15,000 to Education Together Foundation (ETF), a nonprofit organization in Junction City to provide $1,000 scholarships to 15 graduating high school seniors in the Junction City School District.

“OCCU Foundation supports organizations that increase access to learning and continued education,” said Brian Alfano, OCCU Chief Operations Officer and OCCU Foundation Board Member. “We hope the OCCU Foundation scholarship through ETF will help students and individuals to continue their educational journeys and to pursue lifelong learning.”

ETF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was established in 1987 to provide financial support for continuing and supplemental education to residents and employees of the Junction City School District.

“This very generous $15,000 donation from OCCU Foundation will allow the Education Together Foundation to fund 15 individual scholarships for Junction City students continuing education in college and trade schools,” said John Hunts, ETF board chair. “This adds to the $130,000 that ETF will give to the Junction City community for educational grants and scholarships in 2022.”

ETF presented the OCCU Foundation scholarships at their awards ceremony on May 17.
