Pacific NW Federal Credit Union Announces Four Executive Promotions

Pacific NW Federal Credit Union, based in Portland, has announced four executive promotions.

“These promotions are in keeping with a dynamic Executive Team that grows as our credit union grows to continue to be our members’ financial partners for life,” said President and CEO Tom Griffith.

Jessica Nelsen has been promoted to SVP/Chief Operations Officer. Nielsen will continue to be responsible for leading member services and operations of our branches, contact center, including mobile and online banking platforms, ITMs/ATMs, facilities, and project management. Nielsen began her career with PNWFCU in 2005 as a Teller and from there became dedicated to credit unions. She has served in a variety of roles including Support Specialist, Mortgage Processor, Call Center Manager, Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Director of Branch Operations, and was the VP of Operations before her most recent promotion. Nielsen is passionate about PNWFCU’s mission to be our members’ “Financial Partner for Life” and helping the counties PNWFCU serves.

I’m excited to be making a positive impact on the strategy of the credit union as we continue to bring new services and opportunities that will help us better serve our members,” said Nielsen.

Eric Keyser will now serve as SVP/Chief Information Officer. Keyser’s interest in technology runs well before the days of dial-up modems, an uncommon passion considering his early life on a farm in the rural Midwest. That interest took him off the farm and into a career spanning 25-plus years — including time working for a university, a video game company, multiple start-ups, and Wall Street trading firms. He spent enough time on Wall Street to know he never wanted to work on Wall Street again. He’s been in Oregon for 16 years and with Pacific NW Federal Credit Union for over 14, having previously served as VP IT. Keyser also serves as Board Chair of Schoolhouse Supplies, a local educational nonprofit. After family and work, any free time is given to board games, backpacking, and trying to improve his “below-average” fly-fishing skills.

Karina Pérez has been promoted to VP of Risk Management. Perez has an extensive work history with the credit union.  In late 2002, Pérez connected with PNWFCU through a high school internship program. From there she accepted a position as a teller, then as a Compliance Specialist, then Compliance Officer. She was later promoted to the Risk & Compliance Manager before her most recent promotion. Pérez currently oversees the following functions: audit, fraud, internal controls, risk management, collections, and physical security. She has served as the official credit union Supervisory Committee liaison since 2016, informally since July 2013. Perez has served on the Loss Mitigation Committee as of June 2016. Her active designations include CUCE, NCCO, and CFE. Pérez is the Board appointed Compliance/BSA/OFAC/Security Officer.

Kaylee Brophy has been promoted to VP/Human Resources and Training. In this role, she will oversee both operational functions and the strategic direction of our HR and Training department. Brophy joined Pacific NW Federal Credit Union in September of 2021 as the Human Resources Manager. Though new to the Credit Union industry, Brophy is a senior-level HR professional with approximately nine years of combined experience as a Manager and Generalist. She launched her Human Resources career within the retail industry before transitioning to Human Services and not-for-profit. Brophy also holds a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Adler University. As a Pacific Northwest local and long-time proponent of the Credit Union Movement, Brophy is excited to continue to advance PNWFCU’s mission to be its members’ financial partner for life.
