Celebrate Black History Month with the NW CUDE Network and AACUC CEO Renée Sattiewhite
January 25, 2022
Northwest credit unions are invited to a Black History Month gathering with the Northwest CUDE Network — a Micro-Community made up of credit union professionals in the region who have obtained the Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) certification offered through the National Credit Union Foundation.
On Feb. 4, the Network will host Renée Sattiewhite, President and CEO of the African American Credit Union Coalition, and facilitate illuminating discussions on the importance of recognizing and celebrating Black history.
“We are excited to connect with the amazing and dynamic Renée Sattiewhite and have a discussion about the significance of Black History Month and the impacts AACUC is making for so many in our movement,” said Debbie Wege, Cooperative Community Advocate for BECU and member of the Northwest CUDE Network Board. “If you don’t know Renée, you need to. And if you do, you already know this is an event not to miss. If you are serious about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), then you also need to know about AACUC!”
The virtual event will run from 10 to 11 a.m. PST and is open to all. Click here to register. Attendees will also learn about AACUC’s various DEI-focused programs and events, and how to get involved.
“AACUC is truly one of the most inclusive organizations in the credit union movement,” said Sattiewhite. “Please consider attending our new DEI Leadership Academy for Financial Professionals (5 weeks), Board Ready 501c3 Nonprofit Governance Program (8 weeks), or our Commitment to Change Friday Conversations (3rd Friday of every month), which has made a wonderful impact participants.”
