Columbia Credit Union Donates $17,900 to Local Veterans Groups

On Dec. 23, 2021, Columbia Credit Union presented donations to three veterans groups: Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC), Home with Heroes, and Returning Veterans Project with funds generated from the credit union’s Veterans Appreciation Loan Promotion. A total of $17,900 was raised through the campaign which was split evenly between the three organizations, $5,966 each.

During the loan promotion, which ran from Oct. 1 through Veterans Day, Nov. 11, Columbia donated $100 for every qualifying loan taken out on a new or used car, truck, boat, motorcycle, RV, snowmobile or ATV. This is the seventh year that the credit union has run its Veterans Appreciation Loan Promotion, raising a total of $137,100 for local veterans since 2014.

“To be able to thank these veterans and these amazing organizations in this way is a great honor for me and everyone at Columbia Credit Union,” said President and CEO Steve Kenny. “During times like these, it’s more important than ever to align our community mission of making life better with groups who are doing good out there like these.”
