Northwest Credit Unions Rank High on National, Regional ‘Best Companies’ Lists

It’s no secret credit unions are fantastic places to work. The not-for-profit cooperative financial institutions continue to be recognized as top employers across the region — and the country — year after year.

Glassdoor recently recognized Mountain America Credit Union with a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award honoring the 100 Best Places to Work in 2022. The recognition, now in its 14th year, is based solely on the input of employees, who voluntarily provide anonymous feedback by completing a company review about their job, work environment, and employer on Glassdoor, the worldwide leader on insights about jobs and companies.

“We invest significant time and resources into building a values-based culture that enables us to attract talented professionals who immediately contribute to the exceptional service we provide our members,” said Sterling Nielsen, President and CEO of Mountain America Credit Union. “We’re honored to receive this award. It is validation that we not only give team members the opportunity to grow professionally, but that we also create an environment where they can take pride in the work they do and in turn help our members define, pursue and achieve their financial goals.”

Headquartered in Sandy, Utah, Mountain America has 13 branches in Idaho and is an active partner in communities across the Gem State.

Last month, Numerica Credit Union was named one of the Top 100 Best Companies to Work for in the state of Washington for 2021, according to Seattle Business magazine. Coming in at No. 14 in the large business category, the financial institution was among a few honorees representing Eastern Washington.

To be recognized for this award, businesses offer detailed information about their workplace and employees respond to a comprehensive survey. Responses remain anonymous, and companies are scored across numerous categories, including communication, training, benefits, career development, and recognition, the credit union said.

“We have a special culture because of our incredible team members,” said Carla Cicero, President and CEO of Numerica. “As our team continues to grow, Numerica’s commitment to enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams, and building communities stays the same. We are honored to be named a top company to work for.”

In late 2021, The Portland Business Journal named OnPoint Community Credit Union one of Oregon’s “Most Admired Companies,” ranking second in the financial services category.

The annual list of honorees, which is determined by a survey sent to 3,700 CEOs across Oregon and Southwest Washington, evaluates companies across all industries based on innovation, branding and marketing, quality of management, community involvement, and quality of products and services.

“Our employees and members have always been the heart and soul of OnPoint,” said Rob Stuart, President and CEO, OnPoint Community Credit Union. “Without the dedication of our employees and the loyalty of our members who continue to choose and trust OnPoint, our historic expansion and charitable giving would not have been possible. This honor is a testament to the people who work and bank here. We look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional experiences and support to our communities, members, and employees in 2022.”
