First Tech FCU Raises Over $700,000 for Children’s Hospitals

First Tech Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, recently raised more than $700,000 dollars as part of its annual Credit Unions for Kids fundraising campaign.

CU4Kids was founded 35 years ago by credit unions, including First Tech, right here in the Northwest to ensure children have access to the best care when they need it most. All proceeds will go toward six regional Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.

This year’s fundraising efforts spanned several months and were facilitated through online banking. First Tech employees set out with a goal to raise $100,000 and the credit union offered a special 2:1 match for its employees, in addition to its 1:1 match for members and the community. And First Tech’s vendors brought in over $550,000, helping exceed the campaign goal.

“The Credit Unions for Kids campaign is a testament and cherished manifestation of our People Helping People philosophy,” said First Tech President and CEO, Greg Mitchell. “Through the generous contributions of our credit union community, vendors, partners, members, and employees, we were able to provide life-changing funds and critical resources for the thousands of children and families in need.”

First Tech’s Children’s Miracle Network hospital partners are renowned for their cutting-edge medical research, innovative therapies and treatments, and world-class care for children.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with First Tech through the Credit Unions for Kids campaign,” said Teri Nestel, President and CEO of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Each year, this campaign raises essential funds for children of all backgrounds and provides a terrific opportunity for credit unions to work together and demonstrate their shared commitment to social responsibility and collaborating for the greater good.”

The CU4Kids fundraising continues at MAXX 2021!

Northwest credit unions have another big opportunity to raise funds for  Children’s Miracle Network hospitals during this year’s CU4Kids Auction at the 2021 MAXX Convention in Boise, Oct. 6. Every year, the Northwest credit union family comes together to wave their paddles high in the air for excellent items and packages at one of the most beloved MAXX events.

Last year’s CU4Kids Auction was held virtually, and credit unions showed up in force to raise over $700,000. The 2021 event, themed the Enchanted Northwest Gala, is sure to bring in big dollars for extraordinary children who need it, like Brinley Oldham, this year’s Miracle Child.
