Now Live: Online Forum for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Discussions

Earlier this summer, the Northwest Credit Unions’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force shared a set of actionable recommendations and resources including best practices for credit unions looking to advance their DEI work as employers, financial institutions, and community partners.

Building on this work, the Northwest Credit Union Association and Northwest Credit Union Foundation recently launched an online forum for conversations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. All NWCUA member credit union professionals can access the forum via the page using their NWCUA login.

“During the Task Force journey, it became apparent that ongoing dialogue, best practice sharing, and cooperation are what fuels effective DEI work,” said Carmen Vigil, NWCUA AVP of Member Engagement. “We are thrilled to offer this new resource as a landing place for professionals from all across the Northwest Credit Union Movement.”

In addition to housing discussions around DEI policies, practices, and work, the forum can also store attachments and resources. Users can customize their settings to receive email notifications when there are new posts or when there is activity on a post they created.

“The more that credit union professionals lean into this resource, the stronger it will become,” said Sharee Adkins, NWCUF Executive Director. “We encourage all credit union professionals with interest in advancing DEI work to log into the resource, update their notification preferences, and stay engaged.”
