Celebrate the Power of Northwest Micro-Communities
July 14, 2021
NWCUA’s Micro-Communities are a vital part of the Northwest Credit Union Movement. Made up of Credit Union Chapters, Global Women’s Leadership Network Sister Societies, Young Professional groups, and Credit Union Development Educators, these groups bring valuable awareness to the region’s credit unions and rally their communities to make a difference. They provide educational opportunities to develop current and future credit union leaders and contribute toward the long-term sustainability of the industry.
Over the past 18 months, Micro-Communities have come together like never before, soaring above challenges and bolstering their commitment to credit union- and community-focused projects and initiatives. It’s time to celebrate that great work!
Nominations are now being accepted for the virtual Micro-Community Impact Celebration & Awards, which will be announced during a virtual event later this fall, after the 2021 MAXX Convention. These passionate credit union employees, champions, and advocates will be honored in three categories:
- Spirit of Micro-Communities
Recognizes one or more events that embodied the spirit of Micro-Communities and fostered one or more of the following:
- Community giveback
- Credit union awareness
- Fearless Leader
Recognizes an individual who far exceeds the call of service to their board — an all-in, go-getter, “let’s make it happen” type of person. This individual leads by example and empowers others to make a difference.
- Spirit of Innovation
Recognizes an out-of-the-box event or ongoing program that brings awareness to a specific cause or organization and encompasses the “People Helping People” philosophy.
The nomination period will remain open through July 30, and more information about the virtual celebration will be available in the coming weeks. Visit the event page online to learn more and submit your entries today!
