Join the 2021 YP Leads Cohort and Attend MAXX in Boise this Fall!

Calling all passionate credit union young professionals: Are you looking for an opportunity to grow your career and amplify your impact within the Northwest Credit Union Movement?

Apply today to become a 2021 YP Lead!

Launched in 2017, the Northwest Young Professionals Network provides credit union employees with complimentary registration Northwest Credit Union Association’s annual MAXX Convention, where they join a growing network of tomorrow’s credit union leaders.

At the 2021 MAXX, which will take place in Boise, Oct. 5-7, 10 YP Leads will attend general and breakout sessions, network with peers, assist with special events, and learn ways to take their credit union involvement to the next level.

In addition to attending MAXX, YP Leads will serve as ambassadors for the Credit Union Movement over the following year by:

  • Playing a key role in building a growing network of engaged peers by participating in pre- and post-MAXX conference calls and other opportunities to strengthen relationships and share ideas.
  • Committing to serve as a strong credit union advocate, either by attending a 2022 advocacy event or championing local advocacy efforts within their organization.
  • Becoming involved with their local Young Professional Group or Credit Union Chapter.

Using the skills they gained through the program, many past YP Leads have gone on to champion advocacy efforts within their own credit unions and communities.

“Being a YP Lead empowered me to step into my leadership ability and take charge of my career,” said Deborah Donnelly, Sr. Program Manager of Organizational Development at BECU and a 2019 YP Lead. “I walked away with a bolstered confidence in my ability to make an impact; not 15 years from now, but today. YPs are the leaders of today and the catalysts for a better future.”

This opportunity is open to NWCUA member credit union employees in Idaho, Oregon, or Washington who identify as young professionals. Travel and lodging costs will be the responsibility of the YP Leads’ credit unions. Need-based scholarships of up to $1,000 are available through the Northwest Credit Union Foundation.

The deadline to submit your application is Friday, July 2. Submissions will be judged by a group of past YP Leads and Champions in the Northwest. Winners will be selected and announced on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
