KCU Announces New Business Development Managers

Kitsap Credit Union announced Flora Damian and John Morrissey were promoted to its marketing department as Business Development Managers.

Focusing on its mission to provide premiere offerings and services to its members, one major initiative this year for Kitsap Credit Union is to expand its sales force. With the newly strengthened department, the credit union is proud to fill these positions by promoting from within. Both Damian and Morrissey were Branch Managers at the credit union prior to accepting their new roles.

They’ll will be responsible for enriching the organization’s relationships with local realtors and real estate companies, and will help grow KCU’s mortgage lending in their new positions. They will report to Matthew Williams, Vice President of Sales.

“The Business Development Manager role at KCU requires someone who not only understands our community needs, but is also passionate about uncovering and solving those needs,” said Williams. “After speaking to John and Flora and reviewing their past experiences, I knew immediately that these two candidates would meet and exceed the expectations of this role.”

Damian brings 20 years of experience in the financial service industry, including proven leadership abilities to her new role. For the past two years, she was Branch Manager at KCU’s newest branch in Puyallup South Hill, where she coached and led a five-person team, as well as worked closely to open Paycheck Protection Program accounts for small businesses affected by the global pandemic. She and her team also volunteered and assisted with local food banks and power pack programs to assemble, donate and distribute food and snack packs to local children.

Morrissey brings over 12 years of experience in the financial service industry, including proven management abilities. He is also very active within the community, where he’s held leadership positions at the nonprofits Downtown Bremerton Association, Bremerton Chamber of Commerce, Kitsap Public Facilities District, and Asset Building Coalition of Kitsap. Prior to taking on his new position, Morrissey was Branch Manager at the Bremerton Harborside and Drive-Up Branch for more than five years, where he trained and led the branch’s team, and tripled loan balances during his tenure there.
